Recently passed down to me was my father's over/under 12 gauge magnum 3' Antonio Zoli shotgun. Inside the chamber is the number 88076. Written on the left side of the barrel is 'made expressly for American Port Co - San Francisco Cal'.
On the right side it reads 'Antonio Zoli & C Gardone VT Made in Italy'.My dad bought the gun used in about 1973. Does anyone know its value in very good condition? Anything special or collectible about this model? I emailed the company with no response. I don't know much about collectible shotguns but this is beautiful and has become a family heirloom I plan to pass down to my son. Any input you can provide would've greatly appreciated.
First thing to do is take the barrels off and find the date code on the bottom of the barrels. You will find the chamber markings, proof markings, and in a box roman numerials. Those roman numerials ae the date code for when the gun was made. The Zoli's were imported by several company's and there are several different models. Need to know if the gun has extractors or ejectore, double triggers, single trigger, or single selective trigger. Is there engraving on the reciever?
Length of barrels.By the way Sears also contracted with Zoli to make shotguns for them, they were called price point guns, as Zoli built them to Sears spec's.Zoli now imports directly to the U.S. And has their own dealers.
My local gunsmiths are clueless.I love this gun and know so little about it. I bought it from an older Gentleman who purchased it in Germany around 1963. It appears to have been made for a German gunsmith from the inscriptions. 12G O/U with beautiful silver work. Serial Number 28839 or A28839. Can anyone help date this, know model, tell me ANYTHING.LOL. Even forward me to someone that might be able to help.
Contacted Zoli North America and they were no help.I shoot clays with it and I had someone ask about it and tell me I'm crazy to be bringing it into the field which got me to thinkingOn the barrel side:F.K. I've only used oil on this gun ever but the tarnish is starting to increase so thanks again on the warning.I would have probably hit it with Flitz without thinking. On another note it really is amazing how well some of these old guns shoot.
I wouldn't say I have any high-end clay guns but this one always ends up going to the field with me.it just fits. When the guy questioned my sanity in bringing it to the field I started to question myself. The action of your Antonio Zoli is typical of the low profile 'Brescia action' guns of the 1960's and 70's; ie: dual Purdey extensions with a Greener-type flat tapered crossbolt, no underlugs and no sliding underbolt. Basic models of this type were imported into the States by several firms during the 60's and 70's with retail prices in the US$170.- to US$250.- range. This was more than double the price of a Stevens Model 311 (US$94.50) at the time.
Your Zoli model is a boxlock with false sideplates added to provide additional area for decorative engraving as specified by the German importer/distributor.FWIW, Antonio Zoli built a wide range of shotguns and rifles ranging from entry level O/U's to high end SxS SLE doubles. Some rifle models were/are available in African calibers for dangerous game. Their current target grade 'Z'-Gun O/U employs a modified Boss-type action and is well regarded.DFMontani Semper Liberi. 18.4 less 17.6 X 4=.032 or improved modified; closer to full than modified.18.4 less 18.0 X4=.016 light modified.Seeing as how they use the closest tenth of a mm, the chokes could be + or -.002The best way to know is to pattern the gun with two or three brands of loads.

If so, I would estimate the value to be in the range of $400.-$500. Such guns typically sold in the States for less than $250.- new.
An ejector model may bring more. As always, check the on-line auctions for current, real-life prices being PAID for identical models in like condition.NB: During the 1960's and 70's, several Gardone gunmakers, including Antonio Zoli, offered bare bones, entry level O/U's with engraving (also with engraved false sideplates) as upgraded 'Deluxe' models. The extra cost for the added features was typically $25.- to $100.- depending on the maker and importer. In most cases, the upgrade was strictly cosmetic and rarely accompanied by a fancy grade of stockwood.
An examination of the internal components will quickly show whether the maker has carried the extra finish to the working parts and properly polished them or left tooling marks or employed castings or stampings in lieu of finished machined forgings as would be expected in a 'Deluxe' grade gun.DFMontani Semper Liberi. Thanks.going to take it in for a good cleaning since I'm a bit timid to try and remove the tarnish spots myself and will pose these questions to the gunsmith. I've spent considerable time on the web on auctions but have never found a Zoli similar to this one. That was my main reason for joining SGW. The only matching engraving I found was on an Abercrombie & Fitch 20g with a single trigger vs. My 12G Hebsaker (assuming that was the importer since it was bought in Germany.not the US) with a double trigger.

My 12G Hebsaker (assuming that was the importer since it was bought in Germany.not the US) with a double trigger. With A&F marking on it, the value could worth that much if not more. Here is another DT gun (distributed by Hebsacker in Schwabisch Hall, Germany) with very similar engraving. The seller stated that the retail value was $499.99 assuming if in good, firing condition, but the retail value is still significantly less than the A&F models. The engraving is beautiful, you have a nice gun! About a year ago, I came across a similar A.
Zoli gun just like yours (with F. Hebsacker - Buchsenmachermeister mark on it, but no US importer mark) and the seller wanted about $500 for it. I emailed Antonio Zoli with some photos and was provided with some info in return, but I didn't jump on the sale though. Anyway, you might want to email Antonio Zoli at if you want to find out more.
So my dad gave me a muzzleloader but i dont know anything about how it works or what year it was made or anything just what i can see on the rifle. So any info is appreciated on the side it says navyarms co. On the top it says antonio zoli &co co. Made in italy 58 caliber black powder only serial number 26203. How do i load it whats it worth? Etc oh and its never been fired my dad got it while in the military and had it in storage ever since its in amazing condition. Selph711.First, you gun is a reproduction made in Italy and has no particular value beyond its use as a BP firearm.the Importer was Navy Arms.long out of buisness, but there are a few dozen current importers that use the same Italian manufacturer.if you need parts Google the name other than Navy Arms stamped on the gun.
